Favorite English slang I’ve learned since I’ve been here (one that I regularly employed/heard while I was in the Lake District) is “chucking it.” I like the mental image of somebody lobbing fistfuls of rain down from the sky.

Lake District day two: pretty much the same as day one, except with BUNNIES, a walk in a different direction, cream tea, and a lot more rain. Yes, this means I went to the Lake District and spent both my days exploring Beatrix Potter territory, but no other activity would have made me happier, so I’d call it a success.
